Hominisens

Hominisens

Laetitia Deschamps

1-23 February

“Hominisens” features a series of paintings and drawings that invite viewers to reflect on their own place as humans. Deschamps’ dynamic and expressive style, characterized by tension and bold forms, is on full display. In this exhibition, she continues to push artistic boundaries, creating a captivating visual narrative centered on the human body. In her themes and artistic approach, Deschamps challenges restrictive cultural ideas about the human body, which she connects to the broader issues of the Anthropocene. By using the body as a central motif, she questions and dismantles these norms, presenting it in strong and hybrid forms that blur the lines between humanity and animals. Her work oscillates between abstraction and figuration, capturing the body in states of floating, distorting, falling, and destruction. The images produced in “Hominisens” are collisional and spontaneous, testifying to the transient and fragile condition of human life. Deschamps explores a violent and monstrous beauty, engaging the anthropomorphic eye of the viewer. Her art provokes a deep emotional response, encouraging viewers to confront their own
perceptions and biases. “Hominisens” offers a powerful exploration of the human body and its place in the modern world
