Stripes and Stories! explores how textile practices preserve personal and collective memory. Artists Janine Maria Schneider and Nadine Lemke reflect on the cultural, emotional, and architectural significance of textiles through installation, photography, and performance.

Janine Maria Schneider presents a powerful performance work inspired by the former women’s prison on Långholmen Island, centering on a monumental hand-sewn skirt carried in public space.

Nadine Lemke responds to Josef Frank’s iconic design language through crochet and collage, layering domestic memories with new aesthetic codes.

Together, their works highlight the generational knowledge embedded in textile forms, and the way patterns—both visual and social—carry stories forward.
